This fall we went on an Arctic Adventure with our Scholastic book fair. Walking down the hall following the polar bear tracks, passing the polar bear and the hundreds of snowflakes that were created by the students, you were led into a giant ice cave. Once inside, you were greeted with the sight of thousands of books from picture books to daring novels, easy readers to science and discovery books and the smiling faces of our many wonderful volunteers. Weaving your way through the icebergs covered with books, there was corner display with novelty toys and posters to adorn your wall. With such an incredible display we were able to provide something for everyone.
This event is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year and requires a tremendous amount of work to put on. But thanks to the many hours of the volunteers, we were able to deliver a fantastic experience for all those who were able to join us for this event. Thanks to the generosity of teachers, parents, and community members, we were able to exceed our goal and raise over $7,000, making this the most profitable book fair we have had to date. Students and teachers alike, spent the week with us learning new things and remembering why "reading is snow cool!".
